Infrared LED detection
Optical measurement of erythrocyte sedimentation for reproducible, Westergren-equivalent results.
Automatic ESR Analyser
Sedimentation, simplified — automated Westergren-standardized ESR with infrared LED detection and random-access loading.

Overview
ZellESR® delivers automated erythrocyte sedimentation rate testing with Westergren-standardized results, infrared LED detection, and minimal manual handling.
Erythrocyte sedimentation is measured by infrared LED detection and reported as Westergren-equivalent results in 30 or 60 minutes, with automatic temperature compensation to 18 °C (Manley table). Vacuum tubes with 3.8% sodium citrate load in random access, and an early pre-indication is available at 12 minutes.
A 4.2-inch color touchscreen, built-in thermal printer, barcode scanning, and LIS connectivity over RS-232 / HL7 keep the workflow simple and traceable.
At a glance
Hospitals, clinical laboratories, and research facilities that need standardized, automated Westergren ESR.
Manual Westergren ESR is slow, operator-dependent, and difficult to standardize, limiting throughput and reproducibility.
Optical measurement of erythrocyte sedimentation for reproducible, Westergren-equivalent results.
Results are compensated to 18 °C using the Manley table for consistency across conditions.
3.8% sodium-citrate vacuum tubes load in random access, with an early indication available at 12 minutes.
On-board printing plus barcode scanning and manual entry for flexible operation.
1–140 mm/hr measurement range with ±1 mm accuracy and CV < 5%.
Connects to the laboratory information system over RS-232 with HL7.
Insert 3.8% sodium-citrate vacuum tubes in random access across 20 channels.
Sedimentation is measured optically with automatic 18 °C compensation; an early indication is available at 12 minutes.
Westergren-equivalent results (1–140 mm/hr) are printed and sent to the LIS over HL7.
